Personal data has meaning and value to everyone, but there is an absence of digital tools currently available to help people realise its value. CitizenMe is fixing that.

Through our app, CitizenMe empowers people with their personal data gathered from around the internet and helps them gain value from it. Currently the app uses machine learning to give people personal insights (e.g. psychographic profiles from social media data), and allows them to exchange these & other data anonymously with brands in return for cash for insights & innovation purposes. We’re just getting started, though, and have big plans for 2019.

 

The Role

To deliver this vision, CitizenMe is seeking an ambitious and creative Data Innovation Manager to join our team to drive growth for our client data platform and consulting services. You will work as part of a skilled and multi-disciplined team, providing management and leadership across all phases of insight development and market research professional services.

This is a stretch role for someone with a minimum of two years professional experience working in market research or data science. You will be working closely with strategists, product managers, engineers and UX/UI designers, and you will be expected to contribute across a number of business areas. You’ll love this role if you are entrepreneurial, a strong communicator and have an inquisitive mindset.

You will be joining a cutting edge startup that is disrupting existing industries. You will be expected to play a large role achieving long term growth by building strong client relationships and delivering work of the highest standard. If successful in your role, you will have the opportunity to rapidly develop and define your role as the company scales.

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with clients delivering full service research consultancy including; conceptualisation, research design, fieldwork, insights interpretation and communication
  • Helping clients become comfortable with new ways of working, promoting agile methodologies for insight and using multiple data sources for insight purposes
  • Creating growth strategies for key clients, managing and developing close lasting relationships
  • Working as a small team, pro-actively taking the lead across core responsibilities and making independent recommendations for ways to grow and improve the business
  • Designing and writing reports for key client sectors, identifying where new reports could drive growth and engagement
  • Working with product, engineering and design teams to; help identify areas for digital product development by translating client needs into product feature requests, user testing, copy-writing, project management
  • Work with data scientists to develop CitizenMe’s machine learning capabilities for our own products and client outputs

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ years experience in marketing research of data science role. Experience handling quantitative data sets is a must
  • Strong project management skills, constantly striving for the highest standards
  • Data literate. Able to ask the right questions about how statistics are created and how to interpret them. Be comfortable working with advanced analytical techniques like segmentation analysis and regression
  • Good working knowledge of sampling, sample quotas, designing questionnaires, structuring data and visualising impactful insights
  • Applying a creative approach to generating insights and an ability to tell stories with data
  • Good presentations skills; comfortable pitching and delivering presentations to senior stakeholders
  • Excellent written skills; clear, concise and analytical

Preferred Qualifications

  • Up-to-date understanding of key developments in the data economy (big data, personal data management, privacy, regulation e.g. GDPR) and developments in data science and AI
  • Entry level MRS or CIM professional certificate
  • Experience using multiple data sources within research projects
  • Line management experience

The Role

At CitizenMe, the Product Manager role is a cross-functional position which defines and delivers the right products for our clients and Citizens. A Product Manager will work collaboratively with internal teams, being the unifier for Business, Development, UX, Design and Community. This role will work to deliver our innovative platform throughout the entire product development lifecycle. Manage the product from vision, strategy, through roadmap to delivery and ongoing iterations for our Citizen, Client and AI platforms.

A successful Product Manager will establish a shared vision by building consensus on priorities leading to product execution. They have an innate ability to simplify complex and technical concepts and to plan, prioritize and seamlessly integrate all moving parts in order to frequently release high-quality applications and web based tools. They will bring a strategic perspective to projects as well as contribute hands-on in order to get things done.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and manage product roadmaps to realize business goals and strategies.
  • Help define the core product vision, goals, functionality and requirements.
  • Establish shared vision by building consensus on priorities leading to product execution.
  • Collaborate with commercial teams, user experience experts and engineers.
  • Create and maintain the product roadmap, feature backlog and product documentation.
  • Prioritize development activities with engineering team, assist in determining the best technical implementation methods, work closely with QA on acceptance testing and line up the schedule of  product launches.

In November 2017 we launched our self-service client portal, the CitizenMe Exchange, which allows organisations to request users of the CitizenMe app to exchange data for marketing, research, and digital strategy purposes.

The Role

Having recently launched the CitizenMe Exchange, CitizenMe are looking for an ambitious and energetic Sales Executive to help drive new revenue through the platform. In this role, you will take ownership of revenue generation, develop new opportunities, manage the sales pipeline, create and execute account strategies, close deals, and manage customer expansion for our innovative platform. You will help to define and deliver on our outbound sales strategy, working in close collaboration with our marketing and product teams. You’ll need to be a self-starter, who naturally takes initiative in all you do, and are heavily results driven.

You will be joining a cutting edge startup in a new and exciting industry, that is looking to become the category leader by the end of 2018. You will be expected to play a large role in helping the commercial side of the business achieve this. If successful in your role, you will have the opportunity to rapidly develop alongside the growth of the company, and define your role as the company scales upwards. The CitizenMe team is looking for a colleague who can lead the test effort across mobile apps, web apps and backend services. We are looking for a person who is hands-on, happy to work with us in a lean & Agile start-up sense, who is happy to experiment often, is metrics-driven and takes a holistic view of the offering.

Skills & Requirements

  • Experience of translating user stories, requirements and specifications into test cases with developers and act as a “customer”
  • Lead the full end-to-end test effort
  • Happy to partake in the full development life cycle from identification of opportunity, through spec, QA and feedback
  • Passion for automated testing – and happy to lead the effort to improve test-driven development including integration, functional and acceptance tests
  • Experience of Continuous Integration/Delivery/Deployment, ideally AWS toolset or alternatively with prior Jenkins background
  • Test automation tools like Selenium
  • Some development experience; e.g. HTML5/CSS, Javascript/Node, Python, scripting & perhaps even Objective-C/Swift

We are looking for a person who is hands-on, happy to work with us in a lean & Agile start-up sense, who is happy to experiment often, is metrics-driven and takes a holistic view of our product offering.

  • Extensive node.js (8.10+),  HTML5 and CSS experience. Ideally python (3+) and perhaps even some Java (8+) experience too
  • Angular and React.js experience
  • Experience with Internet-facing applications. This includes security posture, availability and fault tolerance considerations. Monitoring, contextual logging and alerting experience, i.e. all non-functional aspects of implementation
  • Knowledge of and ideally experience with AWS, in particular: ECS/Fargate, Docker, Lambda & SAM, API Gateway, Codepipeline, CodeBuild and Cloudformation. Perhaps a couple of AWS certifications
  • Experience of translating user stories, requirements and specifications into a sound architecture and implementation
  • Experience with databases, ideally AWS RDS, MySQL and MongoDB
  • Passion for automated Unit & Integration testing as a gate to production environment (CI/CD). Ideally Selenium or similar experience
  • Some experience with or knowledge of non-functional testing, e.g. load, availability, failure & resilience
  • Lead and mentor the full front-end development effort within a small team of developers
  • Not afraid of tough, never-tried-before challenges and experimentation
  • Happy to work with remote team members and actively engage over Slack
