Citizenme : What’s New in August?

Citizenme : What’s New in August? 640 353 StJohn Deakins

It’s been awesome to hear such positive feedback now that the citizenme app is on the Apple and Android stores. There are already a few thousand of us citizens and if you’ve just joined us – welcome!  We’ve also received some great press – like here, hereherehere and here.

Going forward you’ll see new stuff in the app almost every week. In the last month we’ve added:

  • New Insights: We have the new “what’s your personality on Twitter” insight available.
  • New Cash Rewards:  Some citizens are already earning £10 per week for anonymously sharing insights with brands.
  • New ‘meData’ Donations: Our first charity collaboration is with Blue Marine Foundation – it’s available in the app through August.

And for this week?   We’ve just introduced zero transaction fees on cash-out, so if you complete an offer for £2, you will earn the full £2. This is a big deal as all the traditional services (loyalty cards or market research apps) are broken.  They either offer ‘points’ with no clear value or they only allow you to cash out after reaching a balance (of say $20) and then charge a % fee for taking your money out (cheeky!).  We believe that what you earn is *yours*. You should be able to spend your cash where you like, when you want – and without you having to pay to get it!

This upgrade has been made possible through close collaboration with our payment partner, PayPal.  They have also assisted us with some anti-fraud measures. The citizenme platform is fully security-tested and hardened to protect citizens.  However, some citizens have attempted to exchange their data for the same paid offer multiple times. This activity ‘steals’ offers from other citizens and makes your anonymised insights less valuable for brands – so they’ll end up offering you less money. This has always been a huge problem for the market research industry – and it is a problem that citizenme is fixing – whilst working on your behalf and protecting your anonymity.

There’s lot’s more coming for you in August and September, including some quirky new insights and lots more brands eager to understand digital citizens and your opinions.

We love to hear all your wonderful comments and suggestions, so please keep sharing!

Have an awesome August!

The citizenme team.

Personal data has meaning and value to everyone, but there is an absence of digital tools to help people realise its value. With CitizenMe, StJohn aims to fix that. With a depth of experience digitising and mobilising businesses, StJohn aims for positive change in the personal information economy. Oh… and he loves liquorice.
