Welcome

Welcome 800 442 StJohn Deakins

Hi and welcome to the CitizenMe blog!

Life is about balance.

We all want to use great apps and amazing internet services. Connecting, participating, sharing – who wouldn’t?

Simultaneously, we want control. To have control of our own data, to see how our digital identity is being used, bought and sold.  To know where our personal data goes. To understand the assumptions that are being made about us.

These two desires don’t need to conflict – it really doesn’t need to be a stark choice of an ‘either’ or an ‘or’.  We can have both.

The solution that we’re building will help to remove many of the things that we all dislike about the current state of web – but only if we want.

Our core belief is that every individual should have visibility and control of their digital soul. A digital ‘right to self’.  Once we can all establish this ‘ownership’ of our data, many great things will follow. For example, with ownership, comes the ability to transact our data, or not, as we choose.

Everything we do reflects this belief, from service design to company structure, you really will be in better control of your own data.

On this blog we’ll be sharing: thoughts about creating a positive future of our digital identities, news about our progress and launch dates. We’ll also be very happy to answer any questions about our plans.

In return, we’d love to hear from you too.  Whether it be a question about what we’re creating, or if you’d like to find out more about getting involved to help make it happen, please say hello, either here or on Facebook or twitter.

Until then…

Viva la evolution!

cheers

StJohn Deakins

StJohn founded CitizenMe with the aim to take on the biggest challenge in the Information Age: helping digital citizens gain control of their digital identity. Personal data has meaning and value to everyone, but there is an absence of digital tools to help people realise its value. With CitizenMe, StJohn aims to fix that. With a depth of experience digitising and mobilising businesses, StJohn aims for positive change in the personal information economy. Oh… and he loves liquorice.
